Retirement Planner

See where your retirement savings are heading

Answer a few questions about you and β€” if you like β€” your spouse, add your Social Security estimate and every account you save into, and this builds a year-by-year projection through retirement. Nothing is uploaded and nothing is kept behind your back: the whole thing runs on your device, and the only copy that outlives this tab is the file you choose to save.

Appearance

Dark by default; your choice is remembered on this device.

Your plan never leaves this browser: there is no account, no upload and no server-side copy. To know which parts are worth improving, this site counts anonymous events such as β€œthe wizard was finished” or β€œa project file was saved”, plus a random per-tab id and coarse buckets like how many accounts a plan has. No names, dates of birth, balances, amounts, file names or IP addresses are stored, and the counters stay on this site's own server.

Estimates only β€” returns, inflation and Social Security rules change. Not financial advice.

This project is from an older version

Everything that file could still tell us has been brought across β€” the people in it, Social Security, the accounts and the budget. Anything it was saved too early to hold, such as your withdrawal strategy or how long each of you plans to live, has been set to today's defaults.

Please run through the wizard again and check each step, then use Save project to write the plan back out in the current format. Until you do, the projection is partly working from defaults rather than from your answers.

Questions, bug reports and ideas for what to build next are all welcome. A plan that projects oddly is especially useful β€” tell me what you saw and what you expected.
